I grew up in a small town in Ohio, with my parents and two younger sisters. At an early age I was interested in sports, but it wasn’t until I was 16 when I found a liking in the game of golf. I competed in high school matches and began to fall in love with this game. I attended Kent State University with intent to play Division one golf. I learned a lot those four years, but didn’t feel like I hit my highest potential. It wasn’t until later in my college career that I felt the urge to play professionally. I moved to Arizona right after graduation to work on my game.
After moving, I decided the Cactus Tour would be a good place to start. My first season as a professional began in the fall of 2011. I opted not to go to LPGA Qualifying school my first year, so I could learn more about myself and my game. My first full year playing professionally started in 2012. I played on the Cactus tour in the fall and spring, then played in a couple of the Canadian Women’s Tour events in the summer. I went to LPGA Qualifying school for the first time in 2012. I missed the cut by 2 strokes that year. This gave me motivation to keep going. I then auditioned for the reality golf show Big Break. I was casted as a contestant and the show aired in May of 2013. It was Big Break Mexico. This was by far the best experience I have ever had. You can check out past episodes on Golfchannel.com 2013 was filled with a lot of good golf, and I continued to play on the same tours to gain experience. I then went back to LPGA Qualifying school and missed it again by just a couple strokes. After that, I decided I would keep at it and work very hard. 2014 has been such an amazing year. I started seeing a mental sports psychologist and she’s helped me tremendously. In May, I tore my meniscus. I didn’t stop playing, because it didn’t hurt me too bad, but I sure am paying for it now. I am in my recovery stage and am doing phsycal therapy 3 times a week to get ready for the offseason. I will begin getting ready for next year in Nov/ Although I didn’t make it through Q school again this year, I am going to work hard to get my body stronger and ready to take on the grind of practice that it takes to make it on the LPGA! Thanks for all your support!!!
